وروى هو وأبو هريرة وجابر والبراء بن عازب وزيد بن أرقم عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال يوم غدير خم من كنت مولاه فعلي مولاه

He (i.e. Burayda b. al-Husayb), Abu Hurayra, Jabir, al-Bara` b. `Azib, Zayd ibn ‘Arqam and him related from the Prophet [s] his saying on the day of Ghadir Khumm: ‘For whoever I am his master (mawla).’
