ألحافظ أبوالعباس شهاب الدين القسطلاني المتوفى 923 قال في "المواهب اللدنية" ج 7 ص 13: وأما حديث الترمذي والنسائي: من ‏كنت مولاه فعلي مولاه. فقال الشافعي: يريد بذلك ولاء الاسلام كقوله تعالى: ذلك بأن الله مولى الذين آمنوا وأن الكافرين لا مولى ‏لهم. وقول عمر: أصبحت مولى كل مؤمن. أي: ولي كل مؤمن، و طرق هذا الحديث كثيرة جدا إستوعبها إبن عقدة في كتاب مفرد ‏له وكثير من أسانيدها صحاح وحسان.‏
