قال في تفسيره 8 ص 292: قيل: هو (أي سائل العذاب) الحرث بن النعمان الفهري، وذلك أنه لما بلغه قول رسول الله عليه السلام في ‏علي رضي الله عنه: من كنت مولاه فعلي مولاه. قال: أللهم إن كان ما يقول محمد حقا فأمطر علينا حجارة من السماء. فمالبث حتى ‏رماه الله تعالى بحجر فوقع على دماغه فخرج من أسفله فهلك من ساعته.‏
