حديث الغدير في (مجمع البحار) نقلا عن النهاية حيث قال: إسم المولى يقع على: الرب، والمالك، والسيد، والمنعم، والناصر، والمحب، ‏والتابع، والجار، وابن العم، والحليف، والعقيد، والصهر، والعبد، والمعتق، والمنعم عليه، وأكثرها جاء في الحديث، وكل من ولي أمرا أو ‏قام به فهو مولاه ووليه، وقد يختلف مصادرها، فالولاية بالفتح في النسب والنصرة والعتق، وبالكسر في الامارة، والولاء في المعتق، ‏والموالاة من والى القوم، ومنه: من كنت مولاه فعلي مولاه، يحمل على أكثر الاسماء المذكورة.‏
