This <adíth i.e. the <adíth of Ghadír, has been reported by way of a most elegant and unusual route. Our Shaykh, the seal of <uffá~ (memorizers of <adíth) Abú Bakr Mu<ammad b. `Abdalláh b. al-Mu<ibb al-Maqdasí narrated it to us orally, that al-Shaykha Umm Mu<ammad Zaynab bint A<mad b. `Abd al-Ra<ím al-Maqdasiya informed us from Abí al-Mu~affar Mu<ammad b. Fityán b. al-Muthanná that Abú Músá Mu<ammad b. Abí Bakr al-\áfi~ informed us that my father’s paternal aunt’s son al-Qá_í Abú al-Qásim `Abd al-Wá<id b. Mu<ammad b. `Abd al-Wá<id al-Madaní informed us by making me recite it to him, that Zafar b. Dá`í al-`Alawí in Astarábád informed us that my father and Abú A<mad b. Ma>raf al-Ma>rafí informed us: the two of them said that Abú Sa`íd al-Idrísí narrated to us: in (giving us) permission (ijázah) for what he had discovered of the history of Astarábád, that Mu<ammad b. Mu<ammad b. al-\asan Abú al-`Abbás al-Rashídí a descendant of Hárún al-Rashíd in Samarqand narrated to me and we have not written it but from him, that Abú al-\asan Mu<ammad b. Ja`far al-\alwání narrated to us, that `Alí b. Mu<ammad b. Ja`far al-Ahwází, the freedman (mawlá) of al-Ráshid, narrated to us that Bakr b. A<mad al-Qa#rí narrated to us that Fá>ima and Zaynab and Umm Kulthúm the daughters of Músá b. Ja`far (a.s) narrated to us; they said: Fá>ima bt. Ja`far b. Mu<ammad al-@ádiq narrated to us that Fá>ima bt. Mu<ammad b. `Alí narrated to me, that Fá>ima bt. `Alí b. al-\usayn narrated to me, that Fá>ima and Sakína the daughters of al-\usayn b. `Alí narrated to me from Umm Kulthúm bt. Fá>ima the daughter of the Prophet, from Fá>ima the daughter of the Messenger of Alláh, blessings and salutations of Alláh on him, and may Allah be pleased with her, who said:
"Have you forgotten the statement of the Messenger of Allah, blessings and salutations of Allah on him, on the day of Ghadír Khumm: ‘Of whomsoever I am master, `Alí is his master?’ And his statement, blessings and salutations of Alláh on him: Your station in relation to me is that of Hárún’s in relation to Músá, peace be upon them both?’"
It has been mentioned thus by al-\áfi~ al-Kabír Abú Músá al-Madíní in his book with the chain of names and he says: This <adíth is a continuous one in one respect which is that each of the Fá>ima's has related it from her paternal aunt, so it is a narration of five paternal nieces each one of them narrating from her paternal aunt.
