Al-Hasan b. `Arafah al-`Abdi quoted Sa`d b. Abi Waqqas, through Muhammad b. Hazim (Abu Mu`awiyah al-Darir), Musa b. Muslim al-Shaybani and `Abd al-Rahman b. Sabit, as saying (Sa`d b. Abi Waqqas was visiting Mu’awiyah when they mentioned ‘Ali): “ He has got three qualities for any one of which I am willing to sacrifice everything; I heard the Messenger of Allah saying ‘To whoever I am his master, ‘Ali is a master’, and ‘Tomorrow I shall give the flag to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger and they love him’ and ‘You are to me what Harun (Aaron) was to Moses except that there will be no prophet after me’. It is considered a hasan Hadith (agreeable tradition) but they did not quote it.
