أخرج القرشي علي بن حميد في (شمس الاخبار) ص 38 نقلا عن (سلوة العارفين ) للموفق بالله الحسين بن إسماعيل الجرجاني والد المرشد بالله باسناده عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله أنه لما سئل عن معنى قوله: من كنت مولاه فعلي مولاه. قال: الله مولاي أولى بي من نفسي لا أمر لي معه، وأنا مولى المؤمنين أولى بهم من أنفسهم لا أمر لهم معي، ومن كنت مولاه أولى به من نفسه لا أمر له معي فعلي مولاه أولى به من نفسه لا أمر له معه.
