Muhammad b. `Ali b. Ibrahim, Abu al-Fath al-Natanzi related it from Abu Hurayrah as follows: “ The one who fasts the 18th day of the month of Dhu'l Hijjah, which is the Day of Ghadir Khumm, will get the reward of fasting sixty months. It was the day when the Prophet [s] took the hand of `Ali ibn Abi Talib and said: Do I not have more right over the believers than what they have over themselves? They said: Yes, O' Messenger of God. He said: Then, for whoever I am his master (mawla), 'Ali is his master (mawla). 'Umar said thereafter: Well done Ibn Abi Talib! Today you became the master (mawla) of all believing men and women. Allah then revealed: Today I have perfected your religion.”
