[, , , , p. 78 ] Ibn Ma`in said: He is reliable. Ibn Mu`ammar said: He was counted amongst the 'abdal. Al-Qattan said: When I come across a man who belittles Hammad then I doubt his Islam. Wuhayb said: Hammad was our leader and from our most learned. [Tadhkirat al-huffaz, al-Dhahabi, Shams al-Din Muhammad b. Ahmad b. `Uthman, Abu `Abd Allah, Haydarabad: Da'irat al-ma`arif al-nizamiyyah, 1333 AH, v. 1, p. 182 ] Al-Dhahabi said: He was skilled in Arabic, a jurist, eloquent, and a man of Sunnah (sahib sunnah).
