أبوالسعادات عبدالله بن أسعد بن علي اليافعي الشافعي اليمني ثم المكي المتوفى 768 ، ذكره السبكي في طبقاته ج 6 ص 103 وأثنى ‏عليه بالصلاح والتصانيف الكثيرة والنظم الكثير ، وترجمه إبن حجر في الدرر ج 2 ص 247 - وذكر مشايخه في الحديث والفقه ‏وأطراه وقال : له كلام في ذم إبن تيمية.‏
