Maní` al-Zuhrí al-Ba#rí, London: The Men of Madínah (^á \á Publishers), 1997, vol. 1, p. 8 ] He was responsible for the canal of Ma`qil. `Umar ibn al-Kha>>áb commanded him to excavate it and he did that and then he moved to Ba#rah, stayed ther and built a house there. He died there during the khalifate of Mu`áwiyah ibn Abí Sufyán while `Ubaydulláh ibn Ziyád was governor.
