قال السيوطي: البزار - الحافظ العلامة الشهير : أبوبكر أحمد بن عمرو ابن عبد الخالق البصري، صاحب المسند الكبير المعلل، رحل في ‏آخر عمره إلى اصفهان والشام ينشر علمه. مات بالرملة سنة 292.‏

ألحافظ أحمد بن عمرو أبوبكر البزار البصري المتوفى 292 ، صاحب المسند المعلل ، قال الخطيب في تاريخه ج 4 ص 334 : كان ثقة حافظا ‏صنف المسند وتكلم على الاحاديث وبين عللها ، وترجمه الذهبي في تذكرته ج 2 ص 228 وحكى ثقته عن الدارقطني. ‏
