[Al-`Ibar fi khabar man ghabar, al-Dhahabi, Shams al-Din Muhammad b. Ahmad b. `Uthman, Abu `Abd Allah, Kuwait: Matba`at Hukumat al-Kuwayt, 1960-61, events of year 153 ] وفي رمضان: معمر بن راشد الازدي مولاهم البصري الحافظ أبوعروة، صاحب الزهري كهلا، روى عن أبي إسحاق وطبقته، وشهد جنازة الحسن، وأقدم شيوخه موتا قتادة، قال أحمد: ليس يضم معمر إلى أحد إلا وجدته فوقه، وقال غيره: كان معمر صالحا خيرا، وهو أول من ارتحل إلى اليمن في طلب الحديث، فلقى بها همام بن منبه صاحب أبي هريرة. Ahmad, Abu Hatim al-Busti al-Tamimi al-Shafi`i, Unidentified edition, , vol. 7, p. 484 ] معمر بن راشد مولى عبد السلام بن عبد القدوس أخو صالح بن عبد القدوس ، وقد قيل : إنه مولى للمهلب بن أبي صفرة . وهو معمر ابن أبي عمرو ، من أهل البصرة سكن اليمن . يروي عن قتادة والزهري وعبد الرزاق ، يروي عن عمير بن هاني العبسي : إنه كان يسجد كل يوم ألف سجدة ويسبح مائة الف تسبيحة . روى عنه علي بن حجر السعدي.
