A<mad b. \anbal and others have said that the mursalát of Sa`íd (i.e. those traditions where he did not name the Companion) are authentic. Ibn al-Madaní said: I am not aware of any Successor with wider knowledge than him. In my view, he was the most lofty of the Successors.
