[al-Ghadir fi al-kitab wa'l-sunnah wa'l-adab, al-Amini, `Abd al-Husayn Ahmad al-Tabrizi al-Najafi, Beirut: Mu'assasat al-A`lami (11 vols), 1414 AH/1994 CE, vol. 1, p. 164 ] سعدالدين مسعود بن عمر بن عبدالله الهروي التفتازاني الشافعي المتوفى 791 عن نحو 80 عاما، ترجمه إبن حجر في الدرر ج 4 ص 350 وعد تآليفه ثم قال: وله غير ذلك من التصانيف في أنواع العلوم التي تنافس الائمة في تحصيلها والاعتناء بها، وكان قد إنتهت إليه معرفة علوم البلاغة والمعقول بالمشرق بل بسائر الامصار، لم يكن له نظير في معرفة هذه العلوم، وأثنى عليه وأطراه وعد تآليفه السيوطي في بغية الوعاة ص 391.
