إبن الزاغوني علي بن عبدالله بن نصر بن السري الزاغوني المتوفى 527، قال إبن كثير ج 12 من تاريخه ص 205: الامام المشهور قرأ ‏القراء‌ات وسمع الحديث واشتغل بالفقه والنحو واللغة، وله‎ ‎المصنفات الكثيرة في الاصول والفقه وله يد في الوعظ واجتمع الناس في ‏جنازته وكانت حافلة جدا.‏
