أبوالفيض محمد بن محمد المرتضى الحسيني الزبيدي الحنفي المولود 145 والمتوفى 1205 ، مؤلف ( تاج العروس في شرح القاموس ) ‏المرجع الوحيد في اللغة ، محتده واسط العراق ، ولد في الهند ، ونشأ في زبيد (باليمن) ورحل إلى الحجاز وأقام بمصر وشارك في العلوم ‏وتضلع فيها وطار صيته واشتهر فضله و ألف الكتب القيمة النفيسة جدا منها : إتحاف السادة المتقين في شرح إحياء العلوم للغزالي ( ط ‏‏10 ج ) وأسانيد الصحاح الست ، وطبعت جملة من تآليفه.‏
