Ibn Ma`ín said: He is reliable. Ibn Mu`ammar said: He was counted amongst the 'abdál. Al-Qa>>án said: When I come across a man who belittles \ammád then I doubt his Islám. Wuhayb said: \ammád was our leader and from our most learned.

Al-Dhahabí said: He was skilled in Arabic, a jurist, eloquent, and a man of Sunnah (#á<ib sunnah).
