[, , , , p. 78 ] Ibn Ma`ín said: He is reliable. Ibn Mu`ammar said: He was counted amongst the 'abdál. Al-Qa>>án said: When I come across a man who belittles \ammád then I doubt his Islám. Wuhayb said: \ammád was our leader and from our most learned. [Tadhkirat al-<uffá~, al-Dhahabí, Shams al-Dín Mu<ammad b. A<mad b. `Uthmán, Abú `Abd Alláh, Haydarabad: Dá'irat al-ma`árif al-ni~ámiyyah, 1333 AH, v. 1, p. 182 ] Al-Dhahabí said: He was skilled in Arabic, a jurist, eloquent, and a man of Sunnah (#á<ib sunnah).
