Question:
According to Ayat Seestani, I did not find anywhere mentioned that
a permanent marriage is valid with no one to witness it. (ie: no
representatives,
no Maulana etc) May I assume correctly that a marriage contract is not
valid then if only done by the two people involved and there are no
papers (religious, legal) to show the marriage did take place? Please
reply as promptly as possible as this subject is a topic for a paper I am
presenting.

Answer:
Contrary to your conclusions, the fact that it is not mentioned that
witnesses will be required means that witnesses are not required
for the marriage to be correct.
