QUESTION:

If a Muslim becomes a kafir or marries a kafir and later realizes her or his 
mistakes and wants to become a Muslim. Is it true that he or she cannot
become a Muslim?

ANSWER:

If a Muslim becomes an apostate then realizes his mistake and willingly
accepts Islam again, he should do tawba and seek forgiveness from Allah (SWT). 

He is still a Muslim. Indeed, it is Allah who knows the secrets of the hearts 
and is all-Forgiving and all-Merciful.

May Allah forgive all our sins, May He shower His mercies on all of us.
