QUESTION:
Assalam Alaikum!
I would appreciate clarification on a subject regarding which I have
heard conflicting reports. What is the ruling on displaying photographs (at
home) of women relatives (alive or who have passed away) who do/did not
observe hijab?
ANSWER:
If the living women relatives were Mahram according to Sheriah, there is no
objection. Displaying of related women's photos who have passed away, and
of those who have passed the age of Hijab (i.e. because of old age) has no
objection.
