Is it true that Imam Ali (as) is referred to as Khayr al-Bashar instead of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)? If so, what is the reason for it considering that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) holds a higher status than Imam Ali (as)?

The fact that Ali is the best of human beings (Khairul Bashar) means the best of all human beings after the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) and it never means that Ali is better than the Prophet Muhammad at all. This Hadeeth has been narrated many well known Sunni books like:

1. Musnad Ahmed Bin Hanbal, Fadha;I'll al-Sahabah, Hadeeth number 917 and 1110 and 177. 
2. Mussannaf Ibn Abi Shaibah مُصَنَّف ابن أبي شيبة  number 31503.

3. Kanzul Ummal, V.11, page 625.

4. Ibn Asaakir in Tareekh Dimishq , V. 24, page 372.

5. Al-Qandoozi Al-Hanafi in Yanaabee'ul Mawaddah , V.2, page 78.

Ali (AS) is the best of the Ummah of the Proohet Muhammad (SAWA).

Did Imam Ali (a) have a companion called Abu Bakr ibn Hazm Al Ansari or Abu Bakr ibn Amr ibn Hazm Al Ansari and what was his year of birth?

Abu Bakr Ibn Mohammad Ibn Amr Ibn Hazm Al-Ansari al-Khazraji was born in year 36 Hijri and died in year 120 Hijri. He was a companion of Ameerul Mo'mineen Ali (AS). He is been mentioned in many of our Shia books of Rijaal as well as Sunni books.

I found a quote attributed to Imam Ali (as): 'Ma min āyatin fī Kitābi-llāh illā amlāhā Rasūlullāh wa khattahā bi-yadī.' Could you provide information on the source of this statement and its authenticity?

This is an authentic quote from Ameerul Mo'mineen Ali (AS) narrated from him in both Sunni and Shia books e.g. al-Kaafi 1:64

The well known Sunni book : Shawahid al-Tanzeel by Al-Hasakaani 1:43

The statement confirms the full knowledge of Ameerul Mo'mineen Ali (AS) about every verse in Quran.

Is it accurate that Imam Ali (a) had a son named by Umar ibn Khattab during his caliphate, as stated in Siyar A'laamin Nubala by Imam Dhahabi, volume 4, page 134? Are there other historical sources that verify this claim, or is it considered fabricated?

It is untrue. Imam Ali (AS) never gave any of his sons the  name of Umar Ibn Khattab.

We have narrations that one of his sons was called Amr عمرو not Umar عمر . Amr عمرو  is a different name.
