Are there any Hadiths mentioning the benefits of reciting the Quran in Maqaamat? Can they be traced back to Imam Ali (AS)?

In al-Kafi, it is related that Imam al-Sadiq said that the Prophet said: "Recite the Qur'an according to the tones and sounds of the Arabs. Beware of using melodies belonging to people who transgress or commit misdeeds. For, after me, different peoples will chant the Qur'an in a singing and cooing fashion. The monks' incantations are also not allowed for it, for their hearts are facing the wrong way, as are the hearts of those who admire them." 

So this is the general idea of maqamat, which are the traditional musical modes of the Arabs, although not exactly mentioning maqamat in detail.

I have heard that some historians say Imam Ali (as) had blonde hair, blue eyes and was of Nordic appearance as Arab aristocracy was of fairer race. Is this true?

After the martyrdom of Fatimah (AS), Imam Ali (AS) had these wives according to available narrations:

1, Umamah Bint Abi Al- Aass as Lady Fatima's will.as Umamah was near to Lady Fatima (AS) and serving her children.

2. Asmaa' bint Omais.

3. Fatimah Bint Hizaam (Ummul Baneen).

4. Um Sa'eed Bint O'rwah ibn Masood Al-Thaqafi.

5. Khawlah Bint Ja'far ibn Qais.

6. Al-Sahbaa; Bint Rabee'ah.

7. Layla Bint Mas'ood.

8. Al-Muhayyat Bint Enri' Al-Qays.

He did not have more than four wives at one time.

Enemies of Imam Ali (AS) since Saqeefah through the governments of Bani Umayyah and Bani Abbas and others tried everything they could to defame the status of Imam Ali (AS) and drive people away from him. One of their evil claims was regarding his physical appearance trying to say that he was الأنزع البطين Al-Anza' Al-Bateen. The real meaning of Al-Anza' is the person who has never committed Shurk or any wrong, while the meaning of Bateen is the person who is full of knowledge. The enemies claimed different meanings according to their enmity and hatred.

'Imam Ali's physical appearance was the best after the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA).
