I am a follower of Ayatollah Syed Ali Sistani, living in Japan. If packaged food has ingredients like emulsifier, shortening, gelatin, etc., and their source is not mentioned, is it halal or should I avoid it?

Wherever you are, and whichever country you may be in, if its non-Muslim country, or even in some cases Muslim country, it is important to check and verify the ingredients of it is not made by Muslim manufacturer.

1. If it does not have anything haram, and you have assurance that there is no shar'i issue with it, you can consider it halal.

2. Ihtiyat is always good. If you are uncomfortable about a certain product, being halal or haram, best to avoid.

3. It is not you absolute duty to investigate, and pry into everything, but you cannot easily turn away from it as well.

Try to stick with things you know are made in Muslim country. Try to find alternatives, and remember that with the difficulty you endure, you will be rewarded more.

I masturbated during Ramadan and didn’t know of the punishment I’ve done this in the previous year aswell, do I have to fast 60 days for each missed day?

Helping people in need is very much encouraged in Islam. Female doctor who help people in need in any humanitarian mission will be rewarded just like male doctor who help people in need. Hijab and abiding the Islamic rules is compulsory in every Muslim female. Father's consent is necessary if she is unmarried as well as husband's permission if she is married.

Married 2 years ago without my parents’ consent, but nikah was done with a maulvi and my in-laws present. Husband is religious and respectful. Parents still disapprove due to family/status. What should I do?

You should keep on trying to gain your parents (mainly your father's) approval as much as you can. Nice behaviour and serving your parents might make have an impact on them.

The Islamic rules are unchangeable no matter what is the nature of the work. Every work which involves sinful act or causes missing an obligatory act, is not permissible. I cleaned a table soiled with semen: I removed the substance and then used a little water from a bottle to spread it, but I’m not sure if that water touched other surfaces. How should I consider the table and the other surfaces? Is this enough?

After removing the Najis substance, you should pour water on the surface where the Najis item was, not all other surfaces of the table.

If you are not sure that water did reach the Najis surface,bayou need to purify it again.

If a woman wakes without knowing she had a wet dream and didn’t check for wetness, only remembering her dream hours, days, or weeks later, is she required to redo her prayers and ghusl?

No, she does not need to redo her prayers. Ghusl itself is not obligatory if she was not sure that she had the real climax discharge while she was asleep. Only remembering the dream does not mean that she had the climax discharge.

I know wearing makeup in public is haram.But if a woman suffers from rosacea (excessive skin redness) which makes her self conscious, is it permissible for her to wear a cream which simply covers the redness in public ?

Applying medication for medical necessity is allowed as much as it is really necessary but it should not look like beautification at all. Muslim woman is not allowed to expose he beauty in front of the outsiders.

What are some aamal or duaa’s one can do to ask Allah to ease their difficulties?

1. Repeating Salawaat and repeating Estighfaar as many times as possible.

2. Giving Sadaqa.

3. Reciting Ziyarat Aashura.

4. Praying the Night Prayer (Namaz e Shab or Salatul Layl).

5. Praying for other believers.

6. Seeking the Waseela of Imam Al-Mahdi (AS) as he is the living Imam of our time.

7. Sincerely supplicating and seeking from Allah as He Said in Quran: Seek from Me, I will Respond to you (Sura Ghaafir, verse 60).

What is the correct procedure for purifying an impure surface like a table or floor that I can't run under running water in the bathroom? Do I use wet wipes or sponges? And does it depend on the impure substance?

After removing the Najis substance, pour little water on the Najis surface then wipe it, then again pour little water on it then wipe it. It becomes Taahir.
