Does applying moisturizing creams and lotions that contain vitamins and minerals during Ramadan break the fast?

Applying such creams and lotions or any cream or lotion does not harm fasting at all.

I am a recent convert to Shia Islam and I was breaking my fasts right at sunset as I did not know I had to wait some minutes longer. Are my fasts valid for those days or do I have to make them up later?

If you thought  that time of breaking the fast has definitely come, and based on that you broke you fast according to that, your fast is valid. 
‘If you wish to practice precaution by fasting those days again, you can do so but it is not obligatory.

Is it recommended to make haste in opening the fast or is it recommended to delay it? What happens to the fast of someone who intentionally delays opening the fast by 1-2 hours due to offering supplications?

It is recommended to perform Salatul Maghrib before breaking the fast. After performing the SALAH, it is recommended to break the fast with out delay.

My workplace is more than a 100 miles away. My husband drives me there for 3-4 days a week. Whilst we are there, we stay at a hotel in the town of my workplace. Can we fast?

If your work requires you to travel away at least three days a week, you must fast during the month of Ramadan and pray full there.
