Did Abu Bakr, Umar, and Aisha seek repentance prior to their death? If so, could you kindly provide book references for further reading on the subject?

Neither Shia scholars nor our Sunni brothers have any authentic evidence that those persons of Saqeefa who did what they did against Fatima (AS) , had repented. Those who claim their repentance failed since 14 centuries to prove such repentance.

Ahlul Bayt (AS) have clearly mentioned that :Our Mother Fatima left this life while being angry on such persons and we don't have any evidence that she ever forgave them.

A book of Seven from the Salaf by Fairizabadi السبعة من السلف has details from Sunni books to prove our stand.

How can I overcome the frustration of continuously committing sins even after seeking forgiveness, and find a way to stop sinning altogether?

You need to face your sinful desires by your strong will. Sinning is the result of weakness in front of Shaitan and sinful desires. Stopping sinning depends on your will power when you decide to avoid the way of hellfire. Imam Al-Sadiq (AS) said: No one will be weak when his will power is strong.

How can one handle committing a sin, repenting, falling back into it, and dealing with the guilt?

Repeating the same sin again means that repentance was not real . Real repenting means you decide not to commit the sin again. We need to think on the results of the sinful acts and avoid it once for all. Seeking forgiveness needs a firm decision not to do it again. We need to face ourselves and tackle our sinful desires because we will be in serious danger if we don't leave the sinful acts.

Seel help from Allah (SWT) to enable you to defeat Satan and sinful desires and repeat ASTAGHFIRULLAH RABBI WA ATOOBU ELAYH. But no foreguveness if keep on committing the sins.

If we can not reach to the persons whom we wronged, we should pray for them and their forgiveness.
