حدثنا ابراهيم بن مرزوق، ثنا أبوعامر العقدي، ثنا يزيد بن كثير، عن محمد بن عمر بن علي، عن أبيه عن علي: إن النبي صلى الله عليه ‏وآله وسلم حضر الشجرة بخم، فخرج آخذا بيد علي فقال: يا أيها الناس ألستم تشهدون أن الله ربكم؟ قالوا: بلى. قال: ألستم ‏تشهدون أن الله ورسوله أولى بكم من أنفسكم، وأن الله ورسوله مولاكم؟ قالوا: بلى. قال: من كنت مولاه فعلي مولاه. إني قد ‏تركت فيكم ما إن أخذتم لن تضلوا بعدي، كتاب الله بأيديكم وأهل بيتي.‏
