The house of Lady Fatima AS was being attacked by a group of Saqeefah people to force her and her husband and her family to give allegiance to the Saqeefah government. that was the reason of the very early demise of Lady Fatima AS. We believe that That attack was the reason for her martyrdom.
The attack on the house of Fatima Zahra (AS) has been admitted by leading Sunni leaders including Abu Bakr himself who openly said when he was about to die that I wish that I did not attack the house of Fatima even if it was a center  of war against me. Every Muslim is responsible to obey Allah The Exalted and follow the Prophet SAWA. We are not allowed to blindly follow our families, culture, society in matters of faith without evidence. When the Muslim establishes concrete evidence that he is working according to the orders of Allah The Exalted, from Quran and according to the authentic orders of the Prophet of Islam SAWA, then he does not need to go through the different sects. We read in the books of Hadeeth that the Muslim Ummah will be divided into 73 sects, out of which just one sect will go straight to Paradise. The 72 sects which remain also had many sub sects over the many past centuries.A Muslim is not responsible to go through all the sects and sub sects as far as he has established authentic and concrete evidence that he is following the clear orders of the Prophet of Islam SAWA which was to keep following the Quran and Ahlulbayt AS.

Marriage between Muslims from any Islamic sect is permissible in principle, but if you know that this marriage can harm your faith or religious practice, then you should avoid it because saving your faith and religious practice is more important than marriage. Your mother's happiness can not be through endangering your future. You should explain to her in suitable and polite way your situation and never allow such forced marriage if you feel that it can harm your faith or religious practice.

'Wassalam.

Allah knows best how to weigh all aspects of a person's nature, intentions, capability, understanding, opportunities, knowledge, weaknesses and so forth. So, in the next life, Allah will judge absolutely justly, and no one will look at how Allah judges in the next life and say that Allah has been unfair. We will also understand better why people are judged as they are, since sometimes a small action may lead a person to jannah and someone who seems good on the surface may end up in the other place.

However, having genuine wilayah (allegiance) to the Imams will, inshallah, aid a person in helping to attain a higher spiritual station, benefit from their intercession, and allow us to be with them in the next life.

Most non-Shi'a today are not directly rejecting the Imams; rather, they are just following what they grew up with or what society says around them. This is different from someone who, for example, rejected Imam 'Ali (A) to his face. As is narrated from Imam Rida (A): "May Allah have mercy on the one who keeps our [teachings] alive... for if the people knew of the virtues of what we say, they would have followed us."

It is important not to be arrogant in one's faith, since even if a person believes in the Imamate, they may still suffer from misconceptions about what is true and be informed in the next world about those things that they thought were correct, which were not. Inshallah Allah would also be merciful about that. However, we can, God willing, pray that Allah guides us to what is most true.
