What is the ruling of stolen things that are in the household and that cannot be returned? What should one do with the items and how can one repent for it?

It does not belong to you, and it must still be returned. You having it in the house will trigger bad memories of a major sin, which is theft, and therefore, it is best for you to get it out of the house. Take it to a local charity, if you are not able to return it. 

As for repenting, when you are praying, or in any time you are reciting dua, repent for your sins in general, and include this as well. 

Remember that Allah ta'ala is the All-forgiving, and therefore be thankful to the Almighty for guiding you to the right path.

Ultimately, human beings will make mistakes from time to time. The answer here is very simple: Seek sincere repentance from God with full regret for the action. God has promised us that when we seek repentance from him, he will definitely accept it from us. He is just waiting for us to feel regret and ask him for forgiveness.

Once you have done that, know with certainty that you have been forgiven and move on with your life. Consider yourself forgiven as if you had never committed that sin....

May Allah give blessings and barakah to your life...

Everyone is worthy of Allah's love since we are all Allah's creation.

In 2003, there was a lot of insanity (as usually happens during wartime), and many people were swept up by events, propaganda, false promises, and self-delusion. In such a situation, it is difficult to make practical amends, but at least you recognize where you went wrong and regret it. It is through hard experience that wisdom is learned. 

There is no real virtue in labelling ourselves or others as "good Muslims" or "bad Muslims"; Allah knows what is in our hearts. 

However, it is good to pray (even if you just start by doing it sometimes), because it is very highly emphasized in the Qur'an and hadith. Allah will love you whether or not you pray; but your prayer is one of the ways that you can show love back!

Allah forgives all the sins if the person is sincere in repenting and deciding not to do it again and seeking forgiveness. Allah says in Quran ( Say: O my servants who did much harm to themselves ( by committing lot of sins) ; Don’t lose hope from the mercy of Allah, surely Allah forgives all sins, He is The Forgiver, The Merciful) Sura Al-Zomar : 53.
