What are the commands, virtues, and benefits of Silatur Rahem with neighbors, family, and friends according to the perspective of the Ahlulbayt? Is it true that those benefits include a long life, good fortune, and closeness to Allah? I understand it is not permissible in Islam to cut off relation with any relatives, but what if that relative is an unbeliever, has alcohol in their homes, and at times would even disrespect our belief and our Imams?
