Etiquette and Rules of a Masjid
Mosques are for Allah SWT and belong to Allah - additional rights for Allah's property compared to rights for people's property - additional rewards as well: -- rewards of attending mosque -- rewards of traveling to mosque -- rewards of sitting in a mosque Our job now is to maintain the mosque. Maintenance can mean: 1) physical maintenance (literal meaning) 2) gathering within it Etiquette from hadith (Prophet [saww] to Abu Dharr): - do not raise your voices - do not partake in any wrongdoing - do not buy and sell - avoid vain talk Additional etiquette / rules: - When you leave your home / work towards mosque: -- go with enthusiasm -- wear nice clothes and apply perfume -- ensure your body and clothes are pure and clean - If you have eaten garlic or onions, wait until the smell is gone - Someone in a state of janaba or haydh cannot enter a mosque Commitment to salaat of Imam Husayn (as) and his companions in the plains of Karbala
