Shaykh Abdulkarim Javier Orobio reverted from Catholicism to Islam at the age of 17, first Sunni, one year later he became Shi'ah. After finishing university he went to Qom to study Islamic Sciences for 12 years and he graduated in Kalam. He translated around 20 titles from English, Persian, Arabic into Spanish. He currently runs the Kauthar Islamic  Foundation in Cali city in Colombia which is an organization for the propagation of Shi'ism in Colombia.
