Can you please give any examples of how a woman can get close to Allah (SWT) while on her menstruation cycle?

Her sincere heart and humble feelings towards her Creator, Allah are the same whether she is in menstruation or not. Apart from Salah and Tawaf, she can:

- Recite Quran except verses of obligatory verses,

- Recite supplications and

- Munajaat,

- Thikr (Zikr) of Allah e.g Salawaat, Istighfaar, Tasbeeh, Alhamdulillah, Subhanallah etc.

- Learning and teaching useful knowledge which is from the best worship of Allah.

-Helping others.

I was having spotting between my periods from the start of Ramadan but I kept fasting and praying considering it minor Istihadhah but now my flow is heavier than it was before. So should I consider it my regular periods and stop fasting?

Istihadhah can be minor or medium or big depending on the amount of the blood. In all these types of Istihadha, fasting is obligatory as well as Salaah, but after Wudhu for every Salah in the minor, or adding on Ghusl before Fajr in the medium or adding three Ghusls ; before Fajr and before Zohr, and befor Maghrib in the big Istihadhah.

Minor Istihadhah is when the blood does not fill the whole pad. In this case Wudhu is obligatory for every Salaah whether Wajib or recommended.

Medium Istihadha is when the blood fills the whole pad but does not leak out of it. In this case she must add one Ghusl before Fajr.

 Big Istihadhah is when the blood fill the whole pad and leaks out of it. In this case she must add three Ghusls as mentioned above.

If a menstruating woman stayed up all the night in the last ten odd number nights of Ramadan without praying but doing Dhikr and reading the Qur'an, is her Dua likely to get accepted?

Yes of course. Acceptance of every worship depends on the sincerity in the intention.

Menstruating female is allowed to perform all worship e.g. Thikr of Allah, Du'a, reading Quran (except the four verses of obligatory Sojood). She is not allowed to pray any Salah nor perform Tawaf around Ka'ba nor stay in Masjid.

Does a Muta end automatically at the end of the period or does one have to say or do something? How can a couple convert it into permanent marriage?

Yes, the temporary marriage contract is automatically terminated once the time period ends. 

One cannot have two contracts at one time, so if the couple agreed to have permanent contract, and the temporary contract is over, they can do the permanent contract. If they are still in the temporary contract, the male says to the female: "I release you for the remaining period", and once he says that, they can do the permanent marriage, as long as all other requirements are met.
