What is the religious and ethical viewpoint on attending a wedding held by a Sunni friend during the month of Muharram?

Lovers of Ahlul Bayt (AS) share Ahlul Bayt (AS) the noble feelings of mourning on the tragedies of Karbala and don’t take part in any function of happiness or celebration during the days of Muharram. Let your Sunni or non Muslim friend know why we mourn on these days and I advise you to refrain from attending wedding ceremony during these days. Respecting our beloved Imams of Ahlul Bayt (AS) is much more important than pleasing people.

I don’t say that attending weddings during Muharram is Haraam as it depends on your intention and impact on others as far as there is no disrespect to  our noble values, but i can say that it can be harmful to our spirituality and our noble feelings being persons hoping to be servants of Ahlul Bayt (AS).

Reason and consensus are both among the four sources of jurisprudence. But reason tells us not to believe in anything just because others believe in it without independent evidence. Why is then consensus also a source of jurisprudence?

Consensus (Ijmaa’إجماع) means when all the scholars agree on a matter, it means that Imam Al-Mahdi (AS) is approving their consensus, otherwise he should have informed any scholars otherwise. Consensus is an evidence because it reflects the approval of Imam Al-Mahdi (AS) on this matter of consensus.

Thank you for your question. Jurisprudence according to the school of Ahl al-Bayt is sometimes referred to as Ja'fari fiqh due to its basis primarily in the copious traditions narrated from Imams al-Baqir and al-Sadiq. While Imam al-Sadiq (as) did not write any books, he expounded jurisprudence in many reports that are narrated from him in mos matters of jurisprudence.

Our Sunni brothers have a ritual of pressing the stomach of the Mayyit to remove waste. Do we have any such act within our Fiqh? If not, would it be forbidden to do so?

It is Mustahab (recommended) to wipe on the tummy of the dead body twice, one with first Ghusl with Sidr and second with the second Ghusl with Kafour except the dead woman if she was pregnant then it becomes Makrouh (disliked) to wipe on her tummy during Ghusl.
