Most schools nowadays are mixed ones where most people do not observe Hijab. How can I lower my gaze when almost half of the school is female including teachers?

We must do our best to avoid looking at non Mahram as much as we can. We should never deliberately look at non Mahram.

There are a lot of books about Islam that you can read, and I think it's good to read whatever seems to fit your needs and interests now, since people have different interests.

There are some small differences between Sunni and Shi'i methods and times of saying the 5 daily prayers. (Also there are some small differences between the 4 main schools of thought among Sunnis.) So some of the guidance you will find in books or online will vary. If you are not committed to any specific school of thought/sect now, I suggest you just pick one method and do it, and if you want to change how you do it, you can change later.

Is there any problem for a woman, who wears Hijab, to wear wide pants with a loose dress that ends below the knees? And is there any problem if she wears light coloured clothing?

Dress of the female must have all conditions of full Hijab including avoiding tight cloth and transparent cloth. Color of the outer dress should not be attractive to men.

Is it permissible for a woman to wear her hair in a bun while doing Hijab?

Real Hijab requires the woman to cover her hair and body with out showing its shape. Wearing her hair in bun goes against this condition of Hijab.
