In the Quran, it says that one man is enough to be a witness. However, if the witness is a woman, there needs to be two women for the witnessing to be valid. Why is this so?

Witness is usually taken when there is a dispute between parties and conflict of interests. Witness is a heavy burden which can be difficult on one woman alone. Another woman supporting the first one will make the witness fully accepted.

In fact, it is out of respect for the woman not to leave her face the challenge of the witness alone.

I usually put on the Quran while doing daily chores. Do I have to pause it if I have to go to the toilet?

There is no problem with that, and no, you do not need to pause it when going to bathroom.

Why do you think that the revelation of Quran was sent to someone who could not read or write?

The Prophet Muhammad was granted the maximum knowledge by Allah as it is in Quran (4:113) and was the most knowledgeable in every field of knowledge.

It is wrong to claim that he was unable to read or write. He was sent to teach human being the knowledge of the Book and the wisdom which means that he had all the knowledge.

I have heard it said that the words Shia and Sunni have not been mentioned in the Koran. Is that true? If so, why are Muslims divided on this issue?

Shia Islam means following the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) narrated by the most pious and most knowledgeable who are Ahlul Bayt (AS) who are the Progeny of the Prophet. Allah (SWT) mentioned in Quran the term Shia for the followers of the Prophets. (And from his (Noah's) Shia was Ebrahim) Sura Al-Saaffaat, verse 83. Quran mentioned (in Sura Al-Qasass, verse 15) a follower of the Prophet Moosa disputing with a person from Moosa's enemies and calls the follower of Moosa as from His Shia.
