I have been looking to invest in an electronic vehicle stock but hesitant to do so as they sell alcohol as a gimmick. Is it allowed to invest in that stock as selling alcohol is not the company’s primary business nor their primary source of income?

Even if selling alcohol is not the main business of the company, but only a small part of the income, it will be unlawful (Haraam) to buy or sell the stocks of such company.

No. Muslim is not allowed to sell alcohol at all or take any part in such unlawful (Haraam) business.

In many cosmetics there are chemical compounds derived from alcohol. It is tough to find cosmetics that are alcohol free. Is it permissible to use such products that include alcohol on one's skin?

Yes it is permissible to use products including alcohol to apply on skin, even if the product was Najis as far as you wash it before performing prayers. Alcohol which is used in manufacturing cosmetics is not Najis according the verdicts of many great Shia scholars.

If an edible item contains 2% or less of alcohol, is it fine to consume it?

Majority of our great Ulama say that any percentage of alcohol should be be avoided, but there is a verdict from prominent Maraja' of Taqleed that the very tiny percentage like 1% or 2% can be permissible if it has been completely mixed with other contents and became like content.

Precaution is always good although you must follow the verdict of the Marja' of Taqleed whom you follow.
