Waswasa. Peace. Doubt. Salah (Prayers). Wudu (Ablution)

I keep doubting my prayers and Wudu, repeating them even though I know it’s waswasa. How can I stop these obsessive doubts and find peace?

Ignore these intrusive thoughts. What ignore means is dont repeat. Whatever the circumstance may be, to avoid developing waswasah, dont repeat. This is your fiqhi duty.

Makkah. Ramadan. Ihram. Masjid. Travel. Family. Salah (Prayers). Sawm (Fasting). Man

We arrive in Makkah 1 day before Ramadan and will stay for 4 days. Can we pray full salah and fast? We will wear ihram at masjid al shajarah and take the train at night. How should men travel whilst avoiding shelter and looking after the family?

You are travelling, and will be there for less than 10 days, so you cannot fast or pray full. Only when you are in the Holy Haram, you can pray full.

Men should do the ihram evening time, and catch the train after that, so it is at night.

If I am studying at a prestigious institution where attendance at formal dinners is expected, is it permissible for me to attend events where wine is served at the table, provided that I do not consume it myself, even though others may be drinking?

No, it is not permissible for you to sit at that table, if alcohol is being consumed at the table.

You have various options, to either decline from going, asking to be seated at a non-alcohol table, etc.

Can you perform wudu with water resistant sunscreens or fake tans?

If it is water resistant, you cannot do wudhu with it. As for a fake tan, as long as it is not "water-proof", you can do wudhu over it.

The criterion is water reaching the skin, for wudhu and for ghusl.

I am at that stage in life where I am approaching menopause. I start having a bleed for 1-2 days every fortnight. Can I still pray during these days?It is not like a normal ‘period’ and doesn’t last as long?

If the signs of blood is not that of haydh, it is istihadha.

Homosexual behavior is common among animals, so why does the Quran forbid it for humans?

This is interestingly a "new research", accommodating to today's popular trend.

Cannibalism is also common among animals, even their own babies. A lot of animals eat their own excrement, or self-mutilate, chewing off their own limbs. Some animals kill their partner, once mating season is finished.

A lot of animals are monogamous for life. There are animals that can change sex, or are two-sexed, and there are animals that don't need to mate to reproduce.

The point here is that the argument of comparing human behaviour to animals is a very weak argument, and does not justify anything.

Yes, it us permissible to shred papers with Quranic verses but don't put the shred papers in a bad place. You can recycle such papers or bury or put it in the water of sea, river or will.

Man. Father. Body. Ghusl. Faith (Iman). Circumcision. Najasa (Impurity)

I am a 30-year-old man from the UK, recently practicing my faith more seriously. I am not yet circumcised. My father is critically ill, and I may need to prepare his body. Am I permitted to do so, or am I still ritually impure despite performing ghusl?

Circumcision is obligatory in every Muslim male if he is still uncircumcised no matter what his age is. Uncircumcised Muslim male is not ritually impure though he is not allowed to perform Tawaf around the Ka'bah. He is allowed to perform all the other worship practices like Salah, fasting etc. preparing the body of your father after his demise is valid even if you are still uncircumcised. I advise you to get circumcised as soon as you can.

Mind. Salah (Prayers). Sin

I pray regularly, but sometimes my mind gets distracted. Does this invalidate my prayer, even though I avoid past sins? What factors determine the validity or invalidity of a prayer?

When your mind gets distracted from your Prayers, it does not invalidate your Prayer though it is not the good situation of Prayers.

Your Prayers are valid as far as your Wudhu is valid and your body and clothes are Tahir (pure) and you perform all the obligatory acts of Salah.

It is very good to keep your mind in your Prayers but if your mind gets distracted, your Salah remains valid.
