No, it does not necessarily need to be making contact with the skin. The istihbab is in the wearing of such stones, and even having them on you is of benefit as well.

Not true. We don't have such condition in our authentic Hadeeths from the Prophet (SAWA) and Ahlul Bayt (AS).

Ring . Wudu (Ablution)

Can I wear a ring, without Wudu, that has الله engraved on it?

Wearing such ring with out Wudhu is allowed as far as you don't touch the engraved name of Allah on it.

Can you share any narration from any Imam talking about making Masah of a piece of cloth, ring or water bottle with the Zareeh of any Imam in order to give it blessing?

Quranic verses in Sura Yousuf are the strongest evidence in this matter.

Prophet Yousuf told his brothers: Take this shirt of mine and cast it on the face of my father, he will turn clear-sighted. (12:93).

'We have many authentic narrations on the blessings which can be obtained by touching (Masah) of blessed items like Black stone, Zareeh of most humble servants of Allah, Quranic text, etc.

Wearing birthstones is permissible but we have no evidence that it is recommended. It is accepted in some cultures but it is not a religious act.

Shahada . Necklace . Ring . Qur'anic Verse

I have two rings, one says Allah and the other one has the Shahada. I also have one bracelet that has Allah's name and I have a necklace with a verse from the Quran. Do I have to take them off when I go to the bathroom?

Bismihi ta'ala

No, you do not need to take them off when you go to the bathroom, as long as you are certain they will not be contaminated with any najasah, and you keep them away from any impurity, or from you touching it without wudhu.

Otherwise, you can take them off.

Another suggestion would be to paint a layer of clear-colour nail polish.

Shirk . Aqeeq . Ring . Stone . God (Allah)

Is it not a kind of shirk to wear an Aqeeq ring stone? Are we not supposed to depend on Allah only?

Wearing Aqeeq is recommended according to authentic Hadeeths. It is not Shirk at all to wear Aqeeq because we never think that the Aqeeq is partner of Allah in any way. Allah kept certain benefits in certain things in His creatures. Benefits of wearing Aqeeq is a gift from Allah.

Is it allowed for my ring with 'Allah' engraved on it to be in contact with a cat?

It is not allowed to touch the name of Allah as well as Quranic verse or part of it with out Wudhu. Names of the Infallibles are also included according to precaution.

Cat is not Najis but we must keep the due respect of the name of Allah in every possible way and in every situation.

Aqiq . Ring

Is it allowed to wear Aqiq on a ring in the index finger and the middle finger?

It is Makrouh (Disliked) to wear any ring in the index finger or the middle finger. Many Hadeeths mentioned that wearing rings in the index or middle fingers was a practice of the non believers who were been punished like the community of prophets Noah and Lut who disobeyed them.

Rings are highly recommended to be worn in the small finger and ring finger.

Are rings with the stones of amethyst, citrine, granite and onyx Mustahab to wear? If so, what are their effects and in which narrations can they be found?

We have many narrations encouraging wearing ring, any ring except golden ring for me because it is forbidden for men to wear gold as well as pure silk. We also have many narrations to wear Aqeeq Yamani (Onyx) and Pharozaj and other precious stones.

You can find many of these Hadeeths in Wasaa'il Al-Shia, Hadeeth number 5980 and 5983, 5991, and 5993, and 5996 and many others.

Is a black Aqeeq stone as good as the red one in terms of the benefits of wearing it on a ring?

I have read about the positive benefits of black aqiq stone, but not from our Islamic heritage. As far as the highly recommended and very mustahab stone that should be worn, it is the red aqiq. They usually refer to this 'red aqiq' as a aqiq kabadi, which means liver colour aqiq.

That would be the best ring to get, with this specific colour.

Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to wear a ring or amulet with Quranic verses or names of Ahlulbayt written on it? And is it permissible to recite more than seven Quranic verses from memory during this time?

Yes, it is permissible to keep on wearing an amulet, talisman, stone, etc. If the verses, Divine Names, or names of Ma'sumeen (a.s.) appear on the outside, then you should avoid touching it. Or, you are able to laminate it, or cover it with clear coloured nail polish, to avoid accidentally touching it.

Yes, you can also read more than seven verses. the only verses you must not read are the verses that have a wajib sajdah.

These verses are in Surah Fussilat, Najm, Sajdah and 'Alaq.
