When a girl starts her period can she turn to her father or brother for guidance about this important matter?
Recently I have come across this claim that it is not Islamic for a girl to discuss this biological phase with her father and brother and periods can only be discussed with her mother or husband.
Is this true?

She can seek guidance from any trusted person like her mother, sister, aunt, cousin sisters. If she has no trusted female to guide her, she can ask her father or brother to guide her.
Knowledge should be taken from any trusted source.
