This text examines the nature of society and history from an Islamic perspective, using the Qur’an as its main basis. It considers how individuals and society are related, whether human beings are social by nature, and how social life develops through shared beliefs, values, responsibilities, and actions.

It also explores social laws, collective identity, human freedom, and the balance between individual responsibility and social influence. The discussion then turns to history and critically examines historical materialism, particularly the claim that economic and material conditions determine the course of human history.

The text argues that this approach cannot be reconciled with the Qur’anic understanding of human nature, freedom, faith, and responsibility. It therefore presents an Islamic view in which both individuals and societies have a real role in shaping their moral and historical development
