Did Adam (as) commit a sin? - He had a lofty station, therefore he did not commit a sin - As a prophet, he was infallible - So then what was it? Possible explanations: -- 1) it was a tark al-awla (abandoning the better) -- 2) the prohibition from Allah SWT was guidance, not a command -- 3) the "Jannah" Adam (as) was in was not a realm where there was any responsibility Repentance of Adam (as) - He was preoccupied with regret and sorrow, and Allah allowed him to repent - His repentance does not mean he committed a sin - What were the words used by Adam (as)? -- the words found in 7:23 -- a dua which Adam (as) recited -- the names of the Ahlul Kisa (as)
