Yes. Every deed which remains will cause more reward if the deed is good like building a Masjid or water will etc, or bad like unlawful business or any sinful acts. The reward for good deeds continue, while sins of bad deeds continue as well. The Hadeeth says: He who initiates a good deed which remains, will get its reward and the reward of every one who follows it, and he who initiates bad deed will face the sin of it and the sin of everyone who will follow and act on it.
This claim is not from Sunni Muslims but from Wahabi sect. Sunni and Shia scholars believe that reciting any Quranic verses or chapters and gifting its reward to the deceased helps the deceased as well as the reciter. Fatwa centre in Egypt ( Daar Al-Iftaa' Al-Masriah دار الإفتاء المصرية) has published a verdict (Fatwa) in Al-Watan newspaper confirming this.
Every pious believer including the martyr will be dying with peace and will see Ahlul Bayt (AS) on his death, who will give him glad tidings about the Mecry of Allah for pious believers. Angles of mercy will also give the pious believer glad tidings and look after him. Martyrs never die, but remain alive in a type of life which we can not feel as Allah says in Quran (And say not of those who were killed in the Way of Allah as dead. Nay, they are living but you perceive not. (Sura 2, verse 154).
Every believer who dies on the love of Ahlul Bayt will die as a Shaheed. This is according to Hadeeth narrated from the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) in Shia and Sunni books like
