Ayatullah Gulpaygani was born in the village of Koukeh near the city of Gulpaygan (135kms north-east of Isfahan) in the closing years of the 19th century. He studied under Ayatullah Sayyed Muhammad Hassan Khonsari and Sayyed Muhammad Taqi Gawdhi. At the age of 19 years he went to the city of Arak, and joined the Madressa of Agha Sayyed Zayauldeen where he completed his initial studies, before joining the lessons of Usul Fiqh at the Dars-e-Kharij level taught by Ayatullah Abdul Karim Haeri Yazdi for three years.

Ayatullah Murtaza Mutahhari was born on February 2nd, 1920, in Farīmān, close to Mashhad in Eastern Iran. He began his formal religious studies at the teaching institution in Mashhad where he discovered his great love for philosophy, theology, and mysticism that came to shape his entire outlook on religion. He later went to Qum where he was able to benefit from the instruction of a wide range of scholars.

Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri was born on the19th of October 1948 in Iraq. He is an important Iranian Shia cleric and diplomat and was one of the Ulama signatories of the Amman Message, which gives a broad foundation for defining Muslim orthodoxy. He died on the 18th of August 2020

Ayatollah Sheikh Mohsen Araki (Persian: محسن اراکی‎; Arabic: محسن الأراكي‎) is an Iranian scholar, cleric, university lecturer, and politician. He was born in Najaf in 1956 and was one of the students of the Islamic thinker Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Baqir al-Sadr.

Mīrzā Mahdī Gharawī Iṣfahānī (Persian: میرزا مهدی غروی اصفهانی) (b. 1303/1885 - d. 1365/1945) was a Shiite scholar of the 14th/20th century and the founder of the Ma'arifi School of Khorasan or the Tafkik School. He had studied in Najaf with Muhammad Husayn Na'ini. After his migration to Mashhad, he taught jurisprudence and principles of jurisprudence, campaigning against the Islamic philosophy which led to the establishment of the Ma'arifi School of Khorasan or the Tafkik School.

Ayatullah Mahdi Hadavi Tehrani was born in 1961 in the city of Tehran. After studying Electrical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology he commenced his religious studies at the Howza in Qom. He is fluent in English and Arabic and knows French and German to a great extent.

Grand Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpaygani (Persian: آیت‌الله العظمی لطف‌الله صافی گلپایگانی‎, Arabic: آيت الله العظمى لطف الله صافى كلبايكانى‎) (born February 20, 1919) is one of the most senior Twelver Shia Marja living in Iran. He was born in Golpaygan, Iran, and has studied in seminaries of Qom under Grand Ayatollah Borujerdi. He currently resides and teaches in the Seminary of Qom.
