Ayatullah Mazaheri was born into a religious family in 1934 in the city of Isfahan, Iran. He began his Islamic studies in the Hawza 'Ilmiyyah of Isfahan and completed his Arabic studies under the guidance of the late Hajj Agha Ahmad Muqaddas. His higher studies were conducted under the guidance of Ayatullah Khadimi, and Ayatullah Fayyad. Four years later, he moved to Qum to continue his studies under the supervision of the late scholar Shaikh Abd al‑Jawad Jabal al‑Amuli, the late Marja Ayatullah al‑Sayyid Shahab al‑Din Mar'ashi Najafi, and the late Ayatullah Shaikh Murtada Haeri.

Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Bahjat Foumani (محمدتقی بهجت فومنی‎) (24 August 1916 – 17 May 2009) was an Iranian Twelver Shia Marja'. He was born in Fouman, Gilan province in the north of Iran. He started his primary education from Fouman. He then travelled to Karbala and Najaf at an early age to continue his education. In Najaf, he was a student of Abu'l-Hasan al-Isfahani, Shaykh Muhammad Kazim Shirazi, Mirza Hussein Naini, Agha Zia al-Din Araghi, and Shaykh Muhammad Hussain al-Gharawi. In addition, Ali Tabataba'i (known as Ayatollah Qazi) was his teacher in spirituality and gnosticism.

Ayatullah Ali Akbar Faydh, famously known as Ayatollah Mishkini, was born in 1921 in one of the villages in the precincts of the city of Mishkin. He studied the preliminary stages of Islamic studies under the guidance of his father in the holy city of Najaf, Iraq following which he returned to his hometown. After his father’s death, he left for Ardabil where he studied Islamic sciences in addition to Arabic grammar and morphology while in Ardabil.
