Prohibited Behaviours

There are some acts in Islam which have been forbidden by Allah in the Qur’an and by His Messenger (S) in the Sunnah (practice of the Prophet), and which have been made clear by the sayings and actions of the Imams (peace be upon them).

If we study the forbidden things in Islam deeply and in detail, we will find that proscribing them is a step taken by Islam to protect humanity from perverse conduct and keep it away from dangers and evils.

The following are some of the prohibited behaviors.

English

Recommended Behaviours

Among the qualities of the good believers is to emulate the noble character of Prophet Muhammad (S) whom the Almighty has described in His Book as follows:

“And you verily are on a high level of noble character.” (Qur’an; 68: 4-6)

Rights In Islam

When we speak of rights in Islam, we really mean that these rights have been granted by Allah; they have not been granted by any king or by any legislative assembly. Since in Islam rights have been conferred by Allah, no legislative assembly in the world, or any government on earth has the right or authority to make any amendment or change in the rights conferred by Allah. No one has the right to abrogate them or withdraw them.

Introduction

While Islam presents itself as the best way of life for people to achieve salvation in the after-life, it also teaches its followers to live up to high standards in conduct with other human beings, regardless of their religion, ethnicity, race, language, or culture. The Holy Qur’an is highly critical of Christian beliefs in Trinity and regarding Jesus (peace be on him) as a deity. The Holy Book is also very critical of the Jews for not accepting Jesus and Muhammad (peace be on them) as messengers of Allah.

Al-Mufadhdhal Ibn Umar’s Commandment For The Community Of Shi’ism

1. I command you to fear God exclusively without associating with him anything. I command you to declare that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. Fear God and utter only the good wording. Seek the satisfaction of God and fear of His wrath. Keep up the traditions of God, do not exceed His limits, watch Him in all of your affairs, and satisfy yourselves with His act, whether they are for you good or evil.

2. Cling to enjoining good and forbidding evil.
