Who Is Your True Rahim? - 1/2
But there is a deeper meaning of the word Rahim, of the concept of Rahim. That the Ahl ul-Bayt have taught us about. And that is those that you are connected to in reality. Pay attention because it's a bit delicate. Those you are connected to through blood and through Rahm. There are those you are connected to through reality, meaning that you are actually like them.
Who are they? What is the defining characteristics of who you are that you might have in similarity with these individuals? It is your faith, it is your Iman and therefore Ahl ul-Bayt have taught us that your true Rahim, though at a basic level the Rahim is those you are connected to through blood, then at a deeper level your true Rahim are the other believers and at the very top of them the Ahl ul-Bayt themselves.
This is why the Hadith says Rubba Ahkin, lam tallidu ummuk, how many brothers you have that your mother never gave birth to? What does that mean? That means they're not even related to you, but they're closer than a brother at times. Yes, this is what we find in the meaning of Rahim. The companion of Imam As-Sadiq came to him. He recited the verses of the Qur'an in which Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala says that the believers are those who make sure to maintain the ties that they are to maintain.
He asked Ya Aba Abdillah, the kunya of Imam as-Sadiq. Ya Aba Abdillah Abdullah, what's the meaning of this? And Imam as-Sadiq told him, he said, you know the meaning of this when the Quran says: maintaining the ties you are supposed to maintain this is Rahim Aali Muhammad. This is the Rahm, the connection, the relationship you have with the family of the Prophet. And then Imam As-Sadiq continued, he said: wa qatta kunu fi qarabatik, and it also holds true and applies to those who are connected through blood.
But the deeper meaning is the family of the Prophet, the best of the believers, who is none but the Ahl ul-Bayt. Those are who your true Rahim are. And then Imam as-Sadiq continues in the hadith beautifully. He says, don't be one of those who says the verse of the Qur'an only has one meaning. It can have layers of meaning.

Det betyder att de inte ens är släkt med dig, men att de ibland är närmare än en bror. Ja, detta är vad vi finner i betydelsen av Rahim. Imam As-Sadiqs följeslagare kom till honom. Han reciterade verserna i Koranen där Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala säger: att de troende är de som ser till att upprätthålla de band som de ska upprätthålla.
Han frågade Ya Aba Abdillah, en kunya till Imam as-Sadiq, Ya Aba Abdillah, vad är innebörden av detta? Och Imam as-Sadiq berättade för honom, han sa: du vet betydelsen av detta när Koranen säger: att upprätthålla de band du ska upprätthålla, detta är Rahim Aali Muhammad.
