An earring is a piece of jewelry attached to the ear via a piercing in the earlobe or another external part of the ear (except in the case of clip earrings, which clip onto the lobe). Earrings are worn by both sexes, although more common among women, and have been used by different civilizations in different times.

I have a question regarding ear piercing for my husband. I have asked him to consider it, as it doesn't relate to imitating non-Muslims or women. Are there any Hadith specifically warning men against wearing earrings?

This topic has been addressed here a few times. What we can clearly say is that it is definitely culturally unacceptable for Muslim men to do this, and this would be enough for a male to refrain from having earrings.

Man . Sunnah . Earring

Will it be rewarding for me to have my ears pierced and wear earrings as a man, if I believe it to be a sunnah of Prophet (s) as I have heard that he had the ears of Imam Hassan and Hussain pierced?

No, it will not be rewarding. It could be haram as well, as in most, if not all Muslim societies this is unacceptable and socially inappropriate. In our Islamic law, it is called "libas al-shuhrah", which means dressing or wearing something that will invite criticism, negative comments, accusations, or ruining of reputation.

In general, a male wearing earrings does definitely fall under the category of libas al-shuhrah, which means it would be haram.

If it is confirmed that the Imam (a.s.) did have his ear pierced as a child, it does not mean he wore earrings, or kept on wearing it as an adult. We do not have any evidence for that.

And, even if it was done then, for argument sake, it might have been something common then, like men having kohl on their eyes as well, but now, it is uncommon and unpracticed, especially among religious people.

It depends on the common understanding of the society. In some
societies, both girls and boys wear earrings but if the society looks
at wearing earrings as an act specified for females, then males will
not be allowed to do any act of females or wear like females. Vice
versa, females are not allowed to wear any special dress of males.
