Religions with a linear divine history often depict hells as eternal destinations, the biggest examples of which are Christianity and Islam, whereas religions with reincarnation usually depict a hell as an intermediary period between incarnations, as is the case in the dharmic religions. According of what is understood about the afterlife from the Qur'an and hadith, people do not go to the final heaven or hell until after the entire world ends. Prior to that they spend their time in the barzakh.

There are parts of the barzakh which resemble heaven or hell and it seems that those who are confined in the more hell-like area would have less flexibility to visit to the living, as the opportunity to do so is sometimes said to be in proportion to one's faith. Perhaps they will lack the spiritual strength to do so, or perhaps they will be concerned with themselves, or perhaps they are kept away from other creations so as not to cause harm.

Real Christians are those who follow the real teachings of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ gave the good news of the Messenger after him who is called Ahmad. Old bibles have this fact despite changes made many to hide it in other versions of bible.

Suicide . Hell . Pain

Is a person who commits suicide sent to eternal torture in hell? If so, why would Allah give them so much pain in this world that they become suicidal and then torture them in the next world for it?

Allah (SWT) never gives pain to any one to make him suicidal, but He grants continuous bounties and orders Justice and fairness. Remembering Allah (SWT) is the origin and the source of peace of mind. People suffer when they go away from the justice, fairness and neglect remembering Allah. Sufferings of people is the result of their own bad deeds.
Suicide is a major sin because it come as a result losing hope in Allah's mercy as well as sinful killing. Mercy of Allah is greater than any problem, and no problems whatsoever gig or complicated can be bigger than Mercy of Allah.

Hell . Polytheism . Divine Justice . Divine Knowledge . God (Allah)

If the polytheists and infidels will be in hell then would that not cover the vast majority of people since the time of Adam (a)? If yes, then why was such a world created by a Creator whose love is limitless and who knows the destiny of each human?

Allah (SWT) created all His creatures for showering on them His countless bounties and unlimited Mercy. We read in Qur'an: (Except those on whom Your Lord Has bestowed His Mercy, and for that He did create them). (Sura 11, verse 119).

Allah never created people to send them to hellfire, except those insist on criminal acts and continue committing injustice and die on such criminal acts.

Allah, The Most Merciful, The Most Compassionate gives every human being thousands and thousands of chances to believe in thr Truth and do good then enter the Paradise.

Allah (SWT) Has promised every one who believes in Him as The One God to go to Paradise as the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) said: Paradise is the ultimate place for all believers in Allah الجنة للموحدين.

It is not correct the think majority of people since the time of Adam were atheists or non believers. Majority of human beings are believing in The One God which is part of the instinct knowledge even if the cultures and titles are different.

'The Mercy of Allah is much more greater than what we think and He will deal with His creatures with His great Mercy except the enemies of Allah.

Humanity . Heaven . Hell . Atheism . Polytheism

Will most of humanity be in hellfire or heaven? Will most of humanity eventually be taken out from hellfire? Would those taken out include atheists and polytheists?

Allah (SWT),The Most Merciful, The Most Just, knows who is entitled to be in the Hellfire. We are read in Quran that the enemies of Allah will remain in the Hellfire as they were insisting on doing wrong forever.

We should not waste our time in searching what will happen to others, rather trying our best to save ourselves from bad deeds and sincerely doing good in faith and practice to be with the Righteous in the Paradise.

Hadeeth says: The Paradise in the ultimate place of the believers in Allah الجنة للموحدين

Islam . Hell . Dunya

There are many people in the world who do not properly know about Islam. Will every such non-Muslim person end up in hell?

Thank you for your question. In classical theological ruminations, a difference is drawn between those people who have understood the message of Islam and chosen to reject it, and those who don't accept it because they have not understood its message. To further categorize the second group, there is a difference between those who do not know about the truth of Islam because they haven't put the effort to research in order to find the truth and those that have. It is this last group that will not und up in hell according to those ruminations. There is also the issue of those who are mistaken in the path of life they take, perhaps because of a negative interaction with Muslims which has put them off researching Islam and those who are living the message of Islam even if they have not come into appropriate contact with Islam, and these two groups are also given the benefit of the doubt.

So in summary if a person doesn't know properly about Islam, but that is not out of a lack of searching for the truth then they will not end up in hell.

Is it true that some people will go to hell at first but then later go to heaven? And is it true that most people will end up eventually in heaven?

Thank you for your question. There are traditions to the effect that some people will be in hell for a time before being moved to heaven, and that everyone with even the slightest amount of faith will end up in heaven.

Evil . Mind . Hell . Hypocrisy (Nifaq)

I get constant evil thoughts about Allah that I try and counter by repeatedly saying Auzobillah in my mind. But it is so bad that I feel I am a Munafiq and am worried that I will burn in the deepest pit of hell. Is there any cure for my situation?

Bad thoughts can come to lot of people as part of our struggle with our worst enemy Shaytan. Your feeling annoyed from such thoughts means you are not with it and your heart and mind is with Allah not with the bad thoughts.

Tackling bad thoughts needs : Firstly: Knowing that these thoughts are instigated by Shaytan. When we know the evil source, we remain more alert.

Secondly: Seeking help from Allah (SWT) to tackle these evil thoughts. He always helps His servants who seek His help. Keep on praying and supplicating to Him even by repeating saying Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Rahman, Ya Raheem etc. It is very useful to repeat ALLAHUMMA SALLI 'ALA MUHAMMAD WA AALI MUHAMMAD.

It is also very helpful to repeat Estighfaar and recitibg Sura Tawheed.

It is also very helpful to recite Sura Qaaf with voice that your can hear.

Seeking the Waseelah of Ahlul Bayt (AS) is very helpful especially Imam Al-Mahdi (AS).

What is the shortest period of time a sinner may spend in hell?

Human being can not tolerate one second or less in the Hellfire. We seek from Allah, The Forgiver, The Most Merciful to grant us His forgiveness and keep us away from bad deeds which lead to Hellfire.

Hell . Woman

It is claimed that a majority of people in hell will be women. Is this idea supported by the Qur'an or Hadees?

This is found primarily in the Sunni hadith collection of al-Bukhari. (I am not saying the idea has never been adopted by any Shi'i but this is the main reference.)

In the Shi'i hadith book Man La Yahduruhu al-Faqih, it is related that al-Fudayl asked Imam al-Sadiq (A), "The people are saying that most of the people in Hell will be women." Imam al-Sadiq said, "How could that be true, when a man can marry a thousand women from this world there, in a castle of pearl." (Ok maybe this might be a little strange to some people, but the point is, he is refuting it.)

Anyway, the idea that more women or more men will be in hell contradicts the ethos of the Qur'an, which does not judge people by gender, ethnicity, origins, etc, and instead judges people based on their inner purification/beliefs and outer deeds. The tone of this hadith also contradicts what is known of the character of the Prophet (S). The Prophet (S) was so shy that he hesitated to say "no" to someone or criticize someone unless necessary; why would he rail against women? This is more like the way ordinary people talk to each other - in particular, women when they complain about men, or men when they complain about women.

The narration of (Majority of people of hellfire will be women) is not authentic according to our leading scholars. It is mentioned in Sunni books like Al-Bukhari and Muslim. This narration was refuted by Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq (AS) as we read in Hadeeth 4627 in Al-Faqeeh. In fact, on the contrary we have a Hadeeth narrated by Ammaar al-Sabaati that Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq said: Majority of people in the Paradise will be women who were dealt with as weak, so Allah knew their weakness, so, He bestowed His Mercy on them. (Reference: Manla Yahdharuhul Faqeeh, by Al-Sadouq, Vol. 2, Page 468).أكثر أهل الجنة من المستضعفين النساء . علم الله ضعفهن فرحمهن )

You can see in Sunni books very strange narrations against women which have been fabricated because of the Bedwish Jaahilyyah ideas among those who were not following Ahlul Bayt (AS). In Saheeh Muslim (Hadeeth number 1119) which is one of the most important Sunni books of Hadeeth : Salaah of the Muslim is invalid if a woman or a donkey or a dog pass in front of him. يقطع الصلاة المرأة والحمار والكلب

I invite Muslim scholars to research such false narrations and warn people from them.
