Tradition n. 425

قالَ رَسُولُ الله صلی الله عليه و آله و سلم:

إِنَّ العَب دَ لَيُد رِكُ بِحُسنِ خُل قِهِ دَرَجَةَ الصّائِمِ القائِمِ.

The Holy Prophet (S) said: “Verily, a servant can gain the rank of he who both fasts during the day and keeps vigil at night, keeping up prayers, through his good disposition.”

Tradition n. 426

قالَ الإمامُ أَميرُ المُؤمنينَ عَلِيٌّ عليه السلام لإبنِهِ الحَسَنِ :

يا بُنَيَّ ! لا غِنى أَك بَرُ مِنَ العَقلِ، وَ لا فَق رَ مِثلُ الجَهلِ، وَ لا وَح شَةَ أَشَدُّ مِنَ العُج بِ، وَ لا عَي شَ أَلَذُّ مِن حُس نِ الخُل قِ.

Imam Amir al-Mu’minin ‘Ali (‘a) told his son, Imam Hasan (‘a): “0' my son! No wealth is more valuable than intelligence and no poverty is similar to ignorance; no terror is worse than arrogance, and no life is more pleasant than being good tempered.”

رِوايَةٌ عنِ الإمامِ الحَسَنِ عليه السلام :

حَدَّثَنَا الحَسَنُ عَنِ الحَسَنِ عليه السلام إِنَّ أَح سَنَ ال حَسَنِ اَل خُل قُ الحَسَنُ.

Imam Hasan Ibn ‘Ali (‘a) said: “Verily, the best of bests is a good temper.”

قالَ الإمامُ أَميرُ المُؤمنينَ عَلِيٌّ عليه السلام :

حُس نُ الخُل قِ في ثَلاثٍ: اِجتِنابُ المَحارِمِ، وَ طَلَبُ الحَلالِ، وَالتَّوَسُّعُ عَلَى العِيالِ.

Imam Amir al-Mu’minin ‘Ali (‘a) said: “Good behaviour lies in three traits: Avoiding unlawful things, acquiring the lawful ones, and being fair to one's family members.”

حَدَّثَنا أَبُوحَم زَةِ الثُّمالِي عَن عَلِيٍّ ب نِ الحُسَينِ عليه السلام قالَ :

اَل قَو لُ الحَسَنُ يُثرِي المالَ وَ يُن مِي الرِّز قَ، وَ يُن سِئُ فِي ال أَجَلِ، وَ يُحَبِّبُ إِلى الأهلِ، وَ يُدخِلُ الجَنَّةَ .

Imam ‘Ali Ibn Husayn, the fourth Imam, (‘a) said: “Fair speech increases wealth, stretches sustenance, postpones death, creates love among family members, and causes the person to enter Heaven.”

Tradition n. 430

قالَ الإمامُ الصّادِقُ عليه السلام :

ثَلاثٌ مَن أَتَى اللّهَ بِواحِدَةٍ مِن هُنَّ أَو جَبَ اللّهُ لَهُ الجَنَّةَ: اَلإِن فاقُ مِن إِق تارٍ، وَالب ش رُ لِجَمِيعِ العالَمِ وَال إِن صافُ مِن نَفسِهِ.

Imam as-Sadiq (‘a) said: “There are three things that each of which is brought by a person to Allah, He will necessitate Heaven for the one: donation in poverty, a good temper with all people, and justice to one's self.”

Tradition n. 431

قالَ رَسُولُ الله صلی الله عليه و آله و سلم:

أَك ثَرُ ما تَلِجُ بِهِ أُمَّتِي اَل جَنَّةَ تَق وَى اللهِ وَ حُس نُ الخُل قِ.

The Holy Prophet (S) said: “The things by which my Ummah can enjoy Heaven most of all are godliness, and a good temper.”
